Timachidas of Rhodes
Timachidas of Rhodes (Greek: Τιμαχίδας ὁ Ῥόδιος) was an ancient Greek philologist from the island of Rhodes who lived in c. 100 BC. He wrote a prose treatise in at least four books entitled Glosses. He was also known for composing an hexameter poem entitled Deipna or "Dinners" (Supplementum Hellenisticum 769-73). Timachidas is quoted fourteen times by Athenaeus (once on Rhodian wine) and occasionally by others.[1]
