Thunder Road Stakes
The Thunder Road Stakes is an American Thoroughbred horse race run annually in early February at Santa Anita Park in Arcadia, California. It is open to horses age four and older and is contested on turf at a distance of one mile (eight furlongs). First run in 2004 as a handicap, it was upgraded to a Grade III event for 2009. It was downgraded to listed status for 2013 through 2015 but has now returned to a Grade III event. It is currently run under allowance weight conditions with a purse of $100,000.[2]

The 2009 running was switched to the main track because of weather conditions. The event was not run in 2010 or 2012.[2]
