The Truffle Hunters
The Truffle Hunters is a 2020 internationally co-produced documentary film directed and produced by Michael Dweck and Gregory Kershaw. It follows a group of aging men hunting in the woods, for a prized quarry, the Alba truffle. Luca Guadagnino serves as an executive producer under his Frenesy Film Company banner.

Plot
It follows a group of aging men hunting in the woods in Northern Italy, for a prized quarry, the Alba truffle.
Release
The film had its the world premiere at the Sundance Film Festival on January 30, 2020.[2] Shortly after, Sony Pictures Classics acquired distribution rights to the film for $1.5 million.[3] The film was set to screen at the Cannes Film Festival in May 2020, but the festival was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.[4] It was also selected to screen at the Telluride Film Festival in September 2020, prior to its cancellation due to the pandemic.[5] It will screen at the New York Film Festival in September 2020.[6]
Critical reception
The Truffle Hunters received positive reviews from film critics. It holds an approval rating of 100% on Rotten Tomatoes based on 9 reviews, with a weighted average of 8.83/10.[7]
