"The Monsters" is a science fiction short story by American writer Robert Sheckley. It was first published in 1953 in F&SF and has appeared in various collections, including Untouched by Human Hands (1954) and The Starlit Corridor, edited by Roger Mansfield in 1967.

Plot
A sentient alien species attempts to deal with their first contact with humans.
