The Lie (2018 film)

The Lie is a 2018 psychological horror thriller film written and directed by Veena Sud. It is a remake of the 2015 German film We Monsters,[3] It stars Mireille Enos, Peter Sarsgaard and Joey King.[4] Jason Blum serves as a producer under his Blumhouse Productions banner.

Plot

Two parents wrestle with the consequences of their teenage daughter’s lethal mistake, proving just how far any parent would go to protect their child.

Production

Principal photography on the film began in January 2018.[5] Its working title was Between the Earth and the Sky.[4] The film is set in Canada[6] and shot in the Toronto area.[7]

Release

The film premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival on September 13, 2018.[1] In August 2020, Amazon Studios acquired distribution rights to the film, and set it for an October 6, 2020 release.[8]
