The Hub houses a 2,000m2 piazza and clock tower at the heart of the mall. The area is used for a range of activities, including travel exhibitions.[2] The Hub Karen mall is host to the first Carrefour Hypermarket opened in East Africa. Carrefour is a French retailer and the second largest hypermarket chain in the world. With operations across Europe, the Americas, Asia and Africa.[3]

It is also home to the first F&F branch in Africa.[4] F&F is the subsidiary of Tesco and is a UK fashion brand. Burger King opened its first restaurant in Kenya at The Hub in November 2016.[5]

The Hub Karen sustainability

The Hub Karen supports the local community through funding projects. It is involved with the Karengata Youth Soccer Association, the newly built community library and the local police force.[6]

In May 2017, The Hub Karen Mall announced it would install a 450KW solar power plant to generate power to cater for the entire day power needs of the mall.[7]
