Academics

The Green Garden Schools follows the Kenyan National Education System structured on an 8-4-4 model with eight years of basic education (2 years of nursery and 6 years of primary school), four years of secondary education and a four years of college education. Students take the KCPE and KCSE at the eighth year of primary school and forth year of secondary school, respectively. The schools have also fully integrated extra-curricular activities into their academic schedule.

Admission

The academic year begins in early January for Term 1, May for Term 2 and September for Term 3. However, entry to the school is on a rolling basis and students may be accepted at any time in the year. Acceptance follows an evaluation of the child's previous academic record, entry assessment tests and placement fit to the schools.

All admissions to The Green Garden Schools are made through the school board. When seeking admission, prospective students are requested to provide copies of previous school reports, academic transcripts, and where applicable, a Leaving Certificate. Where practicable, prospective students will also be interviewed and may be asked to sit an entrance placement examination. A student will only be admitted to The Green Garden Schools if it is considered that they will benefit from the curriculum offered and if they are prepared to contribute positively to the life of the school.

Students come from 15 different countries.[4]

gollark: I mean, you could allow people to set whether you're allowed custom sorts, too, that'd work.
gollark: Perhaps because nobody suggested, in combination:* hiding a dragon* sorting others' scrolls
gollark: I mean, I find sorting by age more convenient for *me*, but someone wanting me to breed something or whatever would want sort by breed, and I don't see why they shouldn't be allowed to do that.
gollark: Hide a specific dragon.
