The Black Diamond (novel)
The Black Diamond is a 1921 novel by the British writer Francis Brett Young.[1] A coal miner and gifted part-time footballer is given a job above ground by his boss. However when he refuses to throw a cup match, he is dismissed. At the same time, his father accuses him of having an affair with his stepmother and kicks him out of the house.
