The Awakening of the Ants (Spanish: El despertar de las hormigas) is a 2019 Costa Rican drama film directed by Antonella Sudasassi. It was selected as the Costa Rican entry for the Best International Feature Film at the 92nd Academy Awards, but it was not nominated.[1]

Plot
A young wife and mother's imagination helps her escape societal and domestic oppression.[2]

gollark: Technically, with some ridiculous and implausible amount of resources and control of some of the internet and some broadcasters, you could totally fake this, for a while.
gollark: Both parties can gerrymander etc. horribly so I don't see much of an incentive for them to do that.
