Reception
Next Generation reviewed the PlayStation version of the game, rating it two stars out of five, and stated that "Tennis Arena is hardly the caliber of even an average EA sports title. If the game only gave players just a little more control over the ball, it could have ranked a lot better. Instead, what's here is an arcade treatment of a sport that ought to be fun and exciting but winds up being mostly boring."[1]
