Background and chart success

The song was the third chart success by C.C.S. and their most successful. It reached number five in the UK Singles Chart in September 1971 and remained in the chart for 15 weeks.[2]

The song was choreographed for BBC dance troupe Pan's People at Kempton Park pumping station.[3]

The lyrics for the song were also adapted to be used as a football song by the supporters of Bristol Rovers.[4]

gollark: Instead of just saying "no, bad program" or something.
gollark: If you `write` onto a datagram socket or something, you then have to have code in the kernel to interpret that in a somewhat sane way.
gollark: And you probably need some somewhat fiddly compatibility to map not-very-sockety stuff onto sockets.
gollark: Files and sockets need to share a namespace, code somewhere (possibly multiple places) has to make sure it's using the right type of thing.
gollark: That doesn't seem very advantageous.
