Early life

Born in Pensacola, Florida, Gallagher grew up in a musical household learning to sing from her grandfather.[1] At the age of 18, Gallagher picked up the guitar and began to play at venues throughout the Southeastern United States.[2]

Career

Gallagher attended the University of West Florida where she received her Bachelors and Master's in Environmental Science.[3] While at UWF, she formed the band, Baylen, with her brother-in-law [4] The acoustic-indie-pop duo released their first record "It's Been So Long" in 2007[5]. Baylen amicably split in 2010 upon Britnell's relocated to Austin, Texas.

Gallagher met singer/songwriter Leathan Milne and traveled to Vancouver, British Columbia, to record her first solo album, "Oh My Love," which was released in 2013[6]. In Fall 2013, Gallagher relocated to Vancouver to pursue a PhD in Landscape Ecology at the University of British Columbia[7][8][1] In 2016, she teamed up with Canadian producer/multi-instrumentalist Brandon Hoffman of Blocktreat to release her second solo album, "Virginia."[9][10] The album drew comparisons to Brandi Carlile, Bon Iver, Ryan Adams, Jason Mraz, and Jack Johnson.[11][12][13][14][15][16]

In July of 2019, Gallagher released two singles, "Dark Side" and "Barren Land," leading up to her six-track EP, "One Hand on my Heart." The EP was produced by Daniel Mendez of Head Above Water Music at Matchbox Studios in Austin, Texas. The album was funded with the help of a Kickstarter campaign.[17]

Press

gollark: With no particular incentive to except that the "friend" might not like it otherwise?
gollark: So companies are supposed to just give goods to their "friends"...?
gollark: To some extent, but it's fuzzier, and how is that meant to work for *factories* or whatever?
gollark: And it's (very roughly) gotten by providing stuff people want, so organizations which can do that can pay more than ones which can't.
gollark: And "who can pay most" is simple and objective.
