T.N.A. Perumal

T.N.A. Perumal or Thanjavur Nateshacharya Ayyam Perumal (1932 – 8 February 2017) was a wildlife photographer from Bangalore, Karnataka, India.[1][2][3][4][5]

He started taking photographs of flora and fauna in 1960[2] and was awarded with several awards for his photography.[6] He is a member of Mysore Photographic Society, Bangalore since 1961[1][2]

Life and work

In 2011

T.N.A. Perumal made black and white photographs during the 1960s and 1970s.[6] He was jury for several photographic contests.[7] He has also given tips and guidance to youngsters who are interested in wildlife photography.[8]

He is settled in Bangalore and working on (as of 2012) his book Reminiscences of a Wildlife Photographer.[6]

  • 1995 : Karnataka Lalit Kala Academy award for Nature photography[6]
  • 2008 : Certificate of appreciation by Sanctuary Asia[6]
  • 2012 : Lifetime Achievement award for wildlife photography, instituted by Government of India, Photo Division[1]
