In 2018, Synergy Group partnered with Tata Institute of Social Science (TISS), to provide an on-shore counselling helpline that is open 24-hours a day, six days a week, for wellbeing and oriented concerns of seafarers. iCALL, a 10-language service designed to reduce seafarer suicides and enhance the general mental health and wellness of all maritime personnel. The service is available round the clock, free of charge via phone, e-mail, and a chat-based nULTA App.
Ships managed
As of 2020, Synergy Marine Group is managing over 300 vessels and has a diverse fleet which includes LNG & LPG tankers, Chemical tanker, Oil tankers (VLCC, Suezmax, Aframax, LR2, LR1, MR tankers) and PCTC (Pure Car Truck Carrier) container vessels in the 1,800 TEU-20,000+ TEU range and every size of bulk carriers.
Training
Japanese transport conglomerate Mitsui O.S.K. Lines (MOL) - the largest ship operator in the world- has partnered with the Synergy Group to set up a marine advanced simulation training facility (called MAST) in Chennai, India. MOL Synergy India (MAST) trains seafarers with full mission simulators for ship manoeuvring, engine room and liquid cargo simulators for oil, chemical, LPG and LNG, and ECDIS- both generic and type specific [2][3]
Awards
Synergy Marine Group has recently been awarded the “Ship Manager’s Award 2020” by Seatrade Maritime Asia.
In 2019, Synergy Group was awarded the “Excellence in Maritime Services & Ship Management Award” by Lloyd’s List Europe Awards - 2019, the Safety4Sea technology award 2019 and the prestigious Seatrade Award for Investment in People 2019.
In 2018, Synergy Group was awarded with the ‘Shipmanager of the Year’ by Lloyd’s List Asia Pacific Awards - 2018 and the ‘Seafarers Welfare Award’ by The Mission to Seafarers.
Synergy Group received the Samudra Manthan Award 2015 for Social Responsibility.
It won the BP Shipping CEO’s Partner of the Year Award in 2012.
