Sylvia Kerckhoff

Sylvia Kerckhoff (born 1928) is the former two-term mayor of Durham, North Carolina.

Mayor of Durham

Sylvia Kerckhoff became Durham's first female mayor after defeating incumbent Harry Rodenhizer in 1993.[1] She was reelected in 1995.

Education

She graduated from the University of Wisconsin in 1950 with a degree in psychology and later went to Duke University, from which she graduated in 1960 with master's degrees in history and education.[2]
