History
The construction of a second university hospital in Northeastern Thailand (with the first being Srinagarind Hospital of the Faculty of Medicine, Khon Kaen University) was approved by cabinet in 1995. After the Asian Financial Crisis in 1997, development was halted and only a small health center operated. In the 2011 fiscal year, the Suranaree University of Technology received funding for the expansion of the health center into a hospital capable of secondary care, for patient treatment and medical education. The building was named 'Rattanavejjapat' had its foundation stone laid by Princess Sirindhorn on 25 October 2011. It was opened on 18 November 2014.[1]
