By the time the band began recording the album, original trumpet player, Pat Gingras, had left and was replaced by Tyler Jones. Saxophone player, James Riley, also decided to leave the band and, as a result, half of the album featured Riley playing saxophone, while the other half was recorded with new member, Pete Wasilewski, who had previously played alongside trombone player, Chris Rhodes, in the Connecticut band, JC Superska.

To support the release of the album, the band filmed their first music video for the song, "Pay Some Dues." The band also started touring outside of their usual local territory.

The album begins and ends with quotes from the movie Tapeheads.

gollark: I MAY join at a future or past time.
gollark: That units (GNU/Units?) thing seems very useful. They should advertise it more.
gollark: ... hi?
gollark: Can you just write binaries onto it through the shell they give you? Small ones.
gollark: This is, well, homelab-*adjacent* at least, so I figure I might get some help here: how can I copy my ebooks from Amazon Kindle (the service, I lost my actual physical Kindle) to Calibre? I can access them in the "cloud reader" thing and the Android app (on a rooted device, and also one old enough that it seems okay with storing some app data on SD cards), but have no idea how to import the files stored on there.
