St. Francis Xavier Catholic Secondary School

St. Francis Xavier Catholic Secondary School (formerly known as Jean Vanier Catholic Secondary School) is an educational Catholic high school in Milton, Ontario, Canada. The 191,000 square foot building was founded by the Halton Catholic District School Board in 2013.[1] The school has been accepting enrolment for grades 9 through 12 since September 2013. Schools population has grown to over 2000 pupils.

The school was named after the late Jean Vanier, a Canadian Catholic philosopher turned theologian, humanitarian and the founder of L’Arche.[2] However, in June 2020, the Halton Catholic District School Board with approval from the Bishop of Hamilton, Bishop Crosby, renamed the school to St. Francis Xavier following sexual misconduct allegations surrounding Jean Vanier.[3][4]
