It is said that its foundation, coinciding with the city began with a curious fact in 1835, when the child Raimundo de Sá was lost when he was only three years old. After several searches, his mother promised San Antonio to build a chapel if the child was found safe and sound. In the place where the child was found the construction of a chapel began and was only completed around 1838. The news of the incident spread and pilgrims from all parts came to the site. As the increase in pilgrimages were emerging new homes.
