Srujan Lokesh

Srujan Lokesh (born June 28, 1980) is an Indian film actor, television presenter, radio presenter and producer who mainly works in the Kannada film industry. His father Lokesh is a very well known veteran theater artist and film actor in Kannada. His mother Girija Lokesh is also a popular Television and film actress. Subbaiah Naidu, credited as the first hero of Kannada silent movies is the grandfather of Srujan Lokesh and Father of Lokesh.

Family and early life

Srujan Lokesh was born in Bangalore, Karnataka, to popular Kannada film actor Lokesh and Girija Lokesh. He has an elder sister Pooja Lokesh, who is also a TV artist in Kannada and Tamil. After the completion of his degree in SSMRV college, Bangalore in the year 2001, Srujan Lokesh started his acting career starting with the movie Neela Megha Shayama. Srujan Lokesh got engaged with Vijayalaxmi, who is a popular actress, and the engagement was broken due to unknown reason. Srujan Lokesh married Greeshma in the year 2010, who is a theater personality, television actress and Kathakali dancer.

Acting career

He did not succeed in the lead roles he played in the initial stage of his career. During recent years, he has become known for his television programs including Maja with Sruja and Maja Talkies, for which he became a household name.

As child artist

Srujan Lokesh grew up in an environment surrounded by films and theaters artists, which influenced him to get into the acting career. He started as a child artist in the movie Veerappan in the year 1991 and in the movie Bhujangayyana Dashavathara in year 1990.

Lead roles

Srujan Lokesh started his career in the year 2002 with the film Neela Megha Shyama, starring Radhika Kumarswamy in the female lead role. The movie did not do well at the box office. Later, Srujan Lokesh started playing supporting roles and guest appearances in several other films such as Porki, Navagraha, Chingari, Edegarike, Andhar Bahar, Snehitaru, IPC section 300 etc. Meanwhile, Srujan Lokesh started hosting for television reality shows starting with Sye - a dance reality show and hosted several other shows and events. Maja with Sruja, the popular television program hosted by Srujan Lokesh received appreciation from the public for satirical comedy about current affairs. After eleven long years, In 2013, Srujan Lokesh signed up for his second movie Aane Pataaki as a full-fledged hero.

Production house

Lokesh Productions was founded by Srujan Lokesh and his mother Girija Lokesh in 2013. The production house has produced several successful shows on television including Challenge, Chota Champion[1] and Kaasige Toss,[2] all being reality shows. Currently, the house produces Majaa Talkies,[3][4][5] a sketch comedy show, which has been a huge hit among the Kannada audience. As of date, the production house has produced the following shows:
