History
Sree Ayyappa Public School was established in 1988. It is an English Medium co-educational school affiliated to the Central Board of Secondary Education, New Delhi. The school is managed by a Board of Directors elected by Ayyappa Seva Sangham, Bokaro Steel City and other nominated personalities from SAIL, Bokaro Steel etc. In this Steel City, Sangham is a linguistic minority, but its services of the school are dedicated to the benefit of all people irrespective of social or religious consideration.
The first session of the school started on 27 June 1988. Sree Ayyappa Public School does not receive aid from the government or any other sources. The fees realised from students is the only source of income.
Facilities
The Library is stocked with text books and reference books. A period is provided in the school timetable when children are encouraged to read books, under the guidance of the class teacher and the librarian. The library subscribes to daily newspapers, magazines and periodicals.
Laboratories for Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Computer Science are available for the students to perform their practicals according to the CBSE syllabus. An Informatics Practices laboratory exists.
Audio Visual Room : Students of Nursery to V are taken to the Audio Visual room once a week.

House System : In order to encourage competition and team spirit in sports and games all students are divided among four Houses, called Pampa, Ganga, Yamuna and Saraswati.
House Masters are appointed to guide and assist the House. Each house is headed by a House Captain and a Vice-Captain. Inter-house activities are held round the year and the house which gains maximum points is awarded a trophy.
Games conducted are football, basketball, badminton, table tennis, athletics, volleyball, throw ball, handball, Kabaddi, Kho-Kho, cricket, carroms and chess.
