Space Bee
Space Bee is a rock band formed in 2001, known for its oriental melodies and vintage sound. The band's members are Simon Mead (lead singer, bass), Gonzalo García-Sayán (keyboards, guitar), Raban Brauner (keyboards), Johannes Mang (vocals, drums), Percy Omar (guitar).

Space Bee's first LP, "Live in Space!", was recorded through a seminary where the assistants could get to witness the whole recording process.
In 2007 the band reached to the top 15 in the John Peel stage for the semi-finals to the Glastonbury Festival Emerging Talent Competition. They had just released their only single in Spanish called "Sin Mirar", which had some success in MTV.
Space Bee have recorded two video clips of the themes "Amuse" and "Sin Mirar".
In October 2007 and after qualifying among 6,000 bands from all Latin America, they traveled to Buenos Aires to compete in the Zona de Combate MTV (MTV Battle of the Bands) where they beat the other 3 semifinalists and got to travel to the big final in Mexico City. In 2008 they provided the soundtrack for the Peruvian film Mañana te Cuento 2.
In February 2009 they went on tour to several cities of Ecuador and to Buenos Aires, Argentina where they recorded part of their new LP. Later on that year they went back to Buenos Aires to present their new cd It's Alive!, Vol I in a series of gigs around the city in popular venues such as Roxy de Arcos and Red Bell, among others.
In 2010, and with a new album, Space Bee has given a bunch of concerts in Lima as well as Arequipa. On March 25 Space Bee was chosen to open for Sebastian Bach and Guns N' Roses at the Monumental Stadium of Lima. On November they played in the San Marcos Stadium as part of the Lima Hot Festival with the Smashing Pumpkins and Stereophonics.[1]
The band was chosen by the British band Keane to open the concert in Lima at Parque de la Exposicion on April 5, 2013, part of their Strangeland Tour.[2]
At present Space Bee is launching its musical career in Germany, playing for the first time in a European festival in the city of Geldern.[3]
