Sonia Ben Ammar

Sonia Ben Ammar (born 19 February 1999 in Paris)[2] is a French fashion model of Polish and Tunisian descent,[3] actress and singer known mononymously as SONIA. Her first music video for the single "Joyride" premiered on Billboard on 26 September 2019, hinting at an upcoming EP release.[4] PAPER Magazine later revealed another track, "Games," on 29 October 2019, announcing that her four-track debut EP would be released on 8 November 2019.[5]

Biography

Ben Ammar is the daughter of the film producer Tarak Ben Ammar and actress Beata Ben Ammar.[1] Her Tunisian-born father is Muslim.[6] Ben Ammar played minor roles in the film Jappeloup and the stage musical 1789: Les Amants de la Bastille.[7] She graduated from the American School of Paris and started attending the University of Southern California in fall 2017.[8]

In 2016, Ben Ammar signed with IMG Models and has since modeled for Dolce & Gabbana, Miu Miu, Carolina Herrera, Topshop, Nina Ricci and Chanel.[9][10][11][12] She has also appeared in magazines such as Vanity Fair, Harper's Bazaar Arabia, Love, and L'Officiel.[8][11]
