Smorgon family

The Smorgon family is an Australian family famous for its establishment of Smorgon Steel; one of the richest families in Australia. Notable family members include:

  • Norman (Naum) Smorgon (1884-1956)[1]
    • Eric Smorgon (1911-1999), son of Naum and founder of property investment company Escor[2]
    • Victor Smorgon, son of Naum and founder of the Smorgon Group, the last remaining part being Smorgon Steel. Married to Loti Smorgon (d. August 2013), philanthropist and wife of Victor.[3]
  • Moses Smorgon
    • Sam Smorgon[4]
      • Graham Smorgon, the chairman of the Smorgon Steel Group in 2006 when it was split and sold.
