Slave Rebellion of December 25, 1522

The Slave rebellion of December 25, 1522 (other sources say it was on December 27, 1522[1])is the earliest known slave rebellion in the Americas.

It took place in Diego Colón's plantation in the western part of Hispaniola, what is known today as Santo Domingo. It was led by Maria Olofa and Gonzalo Mandinga.[2]
