At the age of 17 she won her first prize money. Her peak year was the winter of 1939-1940 when she skated fl. 400 in price money. On 22 December 1939 she won the Dutch national championships kortebaanschaatsen in Eelde, ahead of Antje Koopmans and Betsy Helder. The prices she won during her career can now be seen in the speed skating museum in Hindeloopen.[4]

She married in 1943 in Akkrum.[5]

In 1994 she was one of the speakers in the first episode of the Dutch VPRO television series Het Spoor Terug. A series about the Dutch skating culture. This first episode was mainly about the role of ice clubs and kortebaanschaatsen.[6]
