History

Sibanthracite Group was founded in 2018. It includes three coal companies: Siberian Anthracite (АО «Сибирский Антрацит») and Open-Pit Mine Vostochny (ООО «Разрез Восточный») — anthracite producers in Novosibirsk region and Open-Pit Mine Kiyzassky (ООО «Разрез Кийзасский) — grade T coal producer in Kemerovo region.

Group's strategy is growth through the development of new start-up projects: from obtaining a mining licence to the start of dynamic production. Open-Pit Mine Vostochny and Open-Pit Mine Kiyzassky illustrate the strategy implementation.

At present Sibathracite is developing the Sugodinsko-Ogodzhinskoye (Сугодинско-Огоджинское месторождение) coalfield, the largest one in the Far East region (Amur oblast). Open-pit mining will start in 2019. The Group also owns Sibantracite Kuzbass (ООО «Сибантрацит Кузбасс»), which holds a license for the development of Verkhneteshsky coalfield (Верхнетешское месторождение) in Kuzbass. Mining will start in 2020.

Sibanthracite resource base will allow the company to double its production up to 58 million tons per year by 2022. The Group is betting on three grades of metallurgical coal: anthracite, grade T, and coking coal.[3]
