Early life and career
Shivani Rangole was born and raised in Pune, India, in a Marathi family. Her mother was a teacher but left her job after Rangole's birth.[2] Her mother encouraged her to act in school plays.[3] Rangole completed her schooling at Abhinava Vidyalaya and graduated in Arts from Fergusson College, where she participated in inter collegiate drama competitions.[4] Later she became part of the theatre organization Sudarshan Rangmanch, where she received training from Pradeep Vaidya and others.[5]
Rangole began her film career in the children's movie Chintoo 2, where she played the role of Neela, who accompanies the kids to an adventure camp as an adult supervisor.[6] After watching her in the play "Jhulta Pool", director Sujay Dahake offered her a role in his 2016 Marathi film Phuntroo.[5] In her next film, & Jara Hatke, she played the female lead, Astha. The film portrayed the complexities of love, blossoming between soon to be step siblings.[7] She has continued acting on stage and bagged multiple Marathi theatre awards for her role as a sales girl, in the play Welcome Zindagi.[8][9]
Rangole started her television career with the marathi serial Shejari Shejari Pakke Shejari, where she played the role of Mahua, the family's daughter.[10] In 2016 she was cast as the female lead in Zee Yuva's romantic comedy serial Bun Maska, the show had its finale in 2017.[11] Later she played the role of the talkative and mischievous younger sister in Amhi Doghi, a marathi serial about the relationship between two sisters with very different personalities.[12] At present she is playing the role of Ramabai, the wife of the protagonist in the serial Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar - Mahamanvachi Gauravgatha, according to Rangole this was one of her most challenging role because of the rural mannerisms and dialect she had to learn.[13]
Her role as the protagonist's sister Rupa, in the Bollywood director Imtiaz Ali's debut web series She, was favorably reviewed.[14]
