Shivaleeka Oberoi

Shivaleeka Oberoi (born 24 July 1995) is an Indian actress predominantly working in the Hindi film industry. Oberoi made her on-screen film debut with the romantic thriller Yeh Saali Aashiqui (2019),[2] which garnered her a Filmfare nomination for Best Female Debut.[3]

Before venturing into acting, she worked as an assistant director at the Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment productions for Kick (2014) and Housefull 3 (2016).[4] Her upcoming film is Khuda Haafiz, opposite Vidyut Jammwal, produced by Panorama Studios.

Early life

Oberoi was born and brought up in Mumbai, Maharashtra. Her father Sumir Oberoi, is a businessman and her mother, Sarina Oberoi, was a teacher. Both her parents are from Mumbai, but her grandparents are originally from Punjab. Her grandfather Mahavir Oberoi, who passed away when her father was very young, had produced a Bollywood film Sheba and Hercules in 1967.[5]

Oberoi was educated at Arya Vidya Mandir School and Jamnabai Narsee School in Mumbai. She graduated from Mumbai University where she studied Majors in English and Psychology. While she was graduating she did a 3-month diploma course from Anupam Kher's Actor Prepares acting institute.[5]

Soon after, she started working at Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment and became an Assistant Director on Kick (2014) and Housefull 3 (2016).[6] After that, she started auditioning for films and took up ads and modelling assignments before she got her debut film.[7]

Career

Oberoi made her acting debut in 2019 with the romantic thriller film Yeh Saali Aashiqui, co-starring Vardhan Puri, grandson of Amrish Puri.[8] The film was directed by Cherag Ruparel and produced by Pen India Limited and Amrish Puri Films.[9] She will be doing her second film Khuda Hafiz with Vidyut Jammwal, directed by Faruk Kabir.[10][11]

Personal Life

Oberoi got engaged with her long-term boyfriend TV actor Karam Rajpal in 15 Jan 2018.[12] In November 2019, she denied the reports of engagement and called these reports false.[13]
