Shikhar Ghimirey

Shikhar Ghimirey (Nepali: शिखर घिमिरे; born 19 December 1987) is a Nepali writer. His first novel Awataar (Avataar) based on the long political movement of Nepal was released in 2017. Set in an imaginary village, the novel resembles incidents that happened in political history of Nepal after the 1950s.[1]

Early childhood

Shikhar Ghimirey was born in Lamjung, a western district of Nepal. When he was in grade 8, he moved to Chitwan for further studies after Maoist Armed revolution shut the school he was reading. Completing SLC (School Leaving Certificate) and +2 Science from Chitwan, he moved to Kathmandu.[2] While in Chitwan he wrote articles and literary reviews in papers and sometimes poem. Akshyar Samuha, an active literary organization, was formed in Chitwan in his initiation.[3] He was passionate about writing from early age.

Career

On moving to Kathmandu, he started working as a journalist for Naya Patrika Daily before he set his career as a full-time writer.
