Sayeed Iskander

Sayeed Iskander (13 January 1953 – 23 September 2012) was a Bangladesh Nationalist Party politician and the former Member of Parliament from Feni-1. He was the younger brother of former Prime Minister Khaleda Zia.[1]

Early life

Iskander was born on 13 January 1953 in Dinajpur. He was the General secretary of Dinajpur unit of Bangladesh Chhatra League in 1969. He went on to become the vice president of the Central Committee of Bangladesh Chhatra League.[1]

Career

He joined Bangladesh Army in 1974. He retired from the Army in 1982 with the rank of Major. He joined the Bangladesh Nationalist Party. He was elected to parliament from Feni-1. He was the founder chairman of Islamic Television.[1]

Death

He died from lung cancer on 23 September 2012 in New York, United States.[1] He was buried in Banani military graveyard.[2]
