Sarah Maria Griffin

Sarah Maria Griffin (c1988), is an Irish writer and poet living in Dublin.

Born about 1988, Sarah Maria Griffin grew up in the Kilbarrack and Raheny areas of Dublin. After completing English, Media and Cultural Studies in Dún Laoghaire Institute of Art, Design + Technology. She moved to Galway where she did a Masters in Creative Writing at NUI Galway and then moved to San Francisco.[1] Griffin began writing poetry before beginning to write articles for newspapers. This became her first book. In 2013 she signed a publishing deal. She returned to Ireland in 2015.[2][3]

She was selected as Writer-In-Residence at Maynooth University for the 2018 to 2019 academic year, and in 2007 she won the European Science Fiction Awards Chrysalis Award.[3]

Griffin has written for a number of publications and as of 2019 writes a podcast for The Irish Times.[4][1][5][6]
