Sanghamitra Pati

Sanghamitra Pati, is a doctor by profession and currently working as a scientist and director of public health in the Regional Medical Research Centre (RMRC) at Bhubaneswar[1] which is a regional institution of the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR). Pati is an expert on multimorbidity research in public health settings, having been a lead in the first ever study of Multimorbidity in India.

Besides multiple publications on the topic,[2][3] she has promoted multimorbidity literacy aimed at capacity building of service providers at national and international events,[4] either as a speaker or as a panellist. Her studies relate to the burden of multimorbidity in primary care, psychiatric multimorbidity, patient-physician perspectives on the burden of multimorbidity, mapping of multimorbidity in medical education, and interprofessional education related to multimorbidity.

Pati was born to Engineer Durga Prasada pati and Swarnalata Devi. He was the eldest among the 4 daughters in the family . She did her MBBS from MKCG Medical College and Hospital, Berhampur . She is married to Manoranjan Panigrahi, who is an IRS officer .[5]
