History

The building, which became the offices and meeting place of Tyne and Wear County Council[1] was built in the mid 1970s.[2] After Tyne and Wear County Council was abolished in 1986, the building was adapted for use by the Department of Social Security.[3] In late 2017 proposals were presented to Newcastle City Council for the conversion of the building into an apartment complex.[4] The development forms part of the larger Jesmond Three Sixty mixed-use scheme.[5]

gollark: > according to nature"Nature" doesn't have opinions on things.
