Early life

Sandra Ortega Mera is the daughter of Amancio Ortega Gaona, founder of Inditex and one of the wealthiest people in the world, and his first wife, Rosalía Mera. Ortega earned a degree in psychology from the University of Santiago de Compostela.[1]

Career

On her mother Rosalía Mera's death in 2013, Ortega inherited her 7% stake in Inditex, as her brother Marcos was born with cerebral palsy, and became Spain's richest woman with a net worth of $7.3 billion.[1]

Ortega spends time working with the foundation her mother founded for those with mental and physical disabilities, Fundación Paideia Galiza.[2]

Personal life

Ortega is married with three children and lives in A Coruña, Spain.[1]
