Sally is an English language feminine given name. The name originated as a pet name for Sarah, but has since become used independently. It is also a nickname for Salome, which is especially popular in Georgia.[1] The name peaked in popularity in the U.S. in 1939, when it was ranked 52nd in popularity, but has since become an uncommon name.[2]
