Salil Singhal

Salil Singhal is the Chairman and Managing director of PI Industries Ltd, engaged in production and marketing of agrochemicals. He was ranked as the 70th richest person in India in the year 2019 according to Forbes.[1][2][3]

Early year

Salil born (1946) in India holds a graduation degree in political science from St. Xavier's College, Mumbai. After graduation Salil joined his father P P Singhal business Mewar Oil & General Mills Ltd in Udaipur. The business is renamed as PI Industries[4]

Salil also served as the Managing Director of PI Industries ltd, Chairman of Secure Meters ltd. and Wolkem India Ltd.[8] Salil serves as an Independent Director of Somany Ceramics Ltd, an Independent Non Executive Director at Usha Martin Limited since 12 May 2009. Salil had served as the Chairman of the Northern Region at Confederation of Indian Industry (CII). He was the Chairman of Crop Care Foundation (erstwhile Pesticides Association of India) for 17 years. Salil was elected as the Chairman Emeritus for life by the members of the Foundation. Salil also serves as a Director of Lake Palace Motels Pvt. Ltd., Historic Resort Hotels Pvt. Ltd and PLL Finance & Investment Ltd.[9]

Family

Salil lives in New Delhi[10] and his son Mayank Singhal is part of the business as Managing director.
