Early life and Education
Saba Rajendran was born and brought up in Sorathur, a village near Neyveli. He did his schooling and higher studies there. Neyveli being the hub for the production of electricity in Tamil Nadu made him get deeply interested in Mechanical sciences. He went on to get a Bachelors's degree in Mathematics and also a Bachelors's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
Even after becoming an engineer, he never forgot his roots. He grew up near cashew fields and observed the problems faced by the farmers and laborers everyday. He took the problems to his heart and wanted to make their lives better.
At the same time, Saba Rajendran was an avid reader and was deeply influenced by the works of Kalaingar M. Karunanidhi. Helping other people in stress became a need for him, not a choice after listening to Kalaingar's speeches. His respect for the party grew when he saw Thalapathy Stalin work for the betterment of people with such humility.
Political Career
Saddened by the constant problems faced by the farmers and labourers in his village and also inspired by Kalaingar Karunanidhi and the principles of Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam, Saba Rajendran concluded that to help people, he had to join the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam.
In 2006, he was given the opportunity to contest in the Assembly elections in the constituency of Nellikuppam for the first time. He won the election and became a Member of Legislative Assembly under the leadership of Kalaingar Karunanidhi, showing his ability to arouse the confidence of people in him.
Soon after assuming office, he focussed on his dream of helping farmers and labourers tackle their problems. The farmers were facing a severe shortage of water for the last 36 years needing them to dig a bore well for up to 150 feet to find sources of water.
With his ability to empathize, his technical background and the support of Kalaingar M. Karunanidhi and Thalapathy M. K. Stalin, he was successfully able to address the issue and regain the groundwater level to 35 feet.
