Ryōko Tateishi

Ryōko Tateishi (Japanese: 立石涼子; 4 December 1951 – 2 August 2020) was a Japanese actress and seiyū.[1]

She was from Nagasaki, the capital city of Nagasaki Prefecture.[2] She appeared in many theatrical works directed by Yukio Ninagawa.[3] She appeared in the Japanese television dramas Kinpachi-sensei, Kita no Kuni Kara, and Shimomachi Rocket.[3][2]

In 1976, she joined the Engeki Shūdan En troupe.[3] In 2015, she moved to Sis Company.[3]

In 2004, she won an Individual Award in the 39th Kinokuniya Awards.[3] Her final stage appearance was in a 2019 adaptation of Crime and Punishment.[4][3]

In September 2019, she was diagnosed with lung cancer.[5] A performance she planned to be in was delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic in Japan.[5] In June 2020, her health became worse.[5] She died of lung cancer on 2 August 2020 in Tokyo Metropolis, aged 68.[5][3][1]
