Ruth Elkrief

Ruth Elkrief (born 1 December 1960) is a French-Moroccan television journalist.

Early life

Ruth Elkrief was born on December 1, 1960, in Morocco.[1] Her great-uncle, Chalom Messas, was a rabbi.[1] She emigrated to France with her family as a teenager.[1]

Elkief graduated from Sciences Po.[1] She earned a postgraduate degree in journalism from the Centre de Formation des Journalistes.[1]

Career

Elkrief was a correspondent for TF1 in Washington, D.C. in 1990.[1] A year later, in 1991, she was appointed as the head of its political programmes.[2] She joined La Chaîne Info in 1994 and BFM TV in 2005.[1][2]

Elkrief became a Knight of the Legion of Honour in 2008.[3]

Personal life

Elkrief is married to Claude Czechowski.[1] They have two daughters.[1]
