It is found in Colombia and Ecuador. Its natural habitats are subtropical or tropical moist lowland forest and subtropical or tropical moist montane forest.
Feeding
The Rufous-fronted wood quail eats insects and nuts especially in summer, as well as plants. Unlike many other bird species, they require a high protein diet.
