Roxy Shih

Roxy Shih (Chinese: 施惠馨) is a Taiwanese American director and producer.[1][2] She is best known for her work on the films The Tribe and Painkillers.[3][4]

Career

Roxy directed the short film Play Time as a Visual Communications "Armed with a Camera" fellowship film, which premiered at the Directors Guild of America.[5][6] In 2016, her directorial debut film The Tribe, starring Jessica Rothe, Anne Winters and Michael Nardelli.[7] The film won the Best Debut Feature Film at the Female Eye Film Festival and Best Feature Director at Other Worlds Austin Film Festival.[8][9]

Roxy´s second feature film Painkillers, starting Madeline Zima, Grant Bowler, Debra Wilson and Adam Huss, premiered at the Brussels International Fantastic Film Festival.[10] She is also the founder and festival director of the Taiwanese American Film Festival.[11] She also directed the recent sci-fi anthology series Dark/Web, premiered at Comic-Con.[12]

As Producer

gollark: Then I noticed that they had merged patches a lot from the repo for a similar wireless chip, so I decided to just try and merge the "kernel 5.10 compatibility" thing from that, which had not made it in yet.
gollark: There was a repo on GitHub for doing that with it, but `insmod`ing it after compiling *somehow* hung my kernel so I had to reboot.
gollark: I mean, possibly. I wanted to get my USB WiFi thing to work in monitor mode for testing for non-evil purposes, but it was just really bad to do so.
gollark: I am now declaring wireless drivers an enemy of mankind.
gollark: Also vehicles of some kind. These conglomerates make tons of things.
