History

The school was built in 1986, by the same architects who designed Rostenhallen (the neighbouring sports arena) the following year. The school is designed to be an open classroom-landscape, and the structure is two U-shaped buildings knit together by a glass-roof and separated by an indoor "street", which according to the architects acts as a stimulative and attractive place of study. This design was not common in schools earlier, and Rosten is therefore seen as a model for other schools. The buildings create two schoolyards; one to the south and one to the north. Although the school is built squarely with a flat roof, it is compensated by the materials used; red, warm brick and blue windows. These materials reappear in the two neighbouring structures of Rostenhallen and Tiller, and creates a visual unity between them.

gollark: The majority of printers I've encountered have been *pure evil*.
gollark: I don't trust printers.
gollark: I'm at least decently confident it would be *quite hard* for unauthorized people to get access. And paper isn't easily backupable or searchable, doesn't support embedding images and videos, doesn't have good linking support, and can be lost easily.
gollark: Might be fun, actually.
gollark: ... though I could do that too.
