Andela formerly played with CSKA Sofia, Petrolul Ploieşti, where he won a Romanian cup-winner's medal, and Levski Kyustendil.

In 1999, he came to Northern Ireland, for a trial with Derry City FC, who played in the League of Ireland.[2] He was not given a contract but moved to Glentoran FC, where he impressed Partick Thistle. After the club had tried to sign the player, the deal collapsed after Andela failed to turn up at Firhill.[3]
