Rogi André

Rogi André (born Rozsa Klein, 1900–1970) was a Hungarian photographer and artist.

Early life

Rozsa Klein was born in 1900.[1]

Career

André produced a series of portraits of personalities in the arts during starting in the 1930s.[2] Several are in the collection of the Museum of Modern Art, New York.[3] They include Fernand Léger, Florent Fels, Alberto Giacometti, Pablo Picasso, Georges Braque, Joan Miró, Jacques Lipchitz, and also André Derain, with a 1939 print of his portrait being held by London's National Portrait Gallery.[1] In 1937, she photographed Dora Maar.[4]

On 2 October 1928, she married the photographer André Kertész in Paris, although this marriage was short-lived.
