Robert Murray (Irish footballer)

Robert Murray (born in Belfast) was an Irish soccer player during the 1890s.

Murray was a tough full back who captained Bohemians from 1893 to 1898.[1] He earned a runners-up medal in 1895 as Bohs were beaten by Linfield in the Irish Cup Final. He was more successful in the Leinster Senior Cup as he picked up 4 winners medals from 1894 to 1897. His brother John Murray played in many of those triumphs too. In those strictly amateur times, Robert had a profession outside football and was a doctor.

Robert died in 1906.
