Rob Sorcher

Robert Sorcher (born December 22, 1961) is an Executive Vice President and Chief Content Officer at Cartoon Network,[1] starting his job in 2008, but was promoted in 2013. He is a producer for We Bare Bears, Emmy[2] and Peabody-winning[3] Adventure Time, Clarence, Regular Show, Steven Universe, Over the Garden Wall, The Powerpuff Girls and Ben 10. As Chief Content Officer, he oversees digital strategy, gaming, and original content development for Cartoon Network.[4][5]

Career

Rob Sorcher currently oversees Cartoon Network Studios[6] in Los Angeles, where he executive produces artist-driven content for worldwide distribution to 192 countries and 370 million homes, and manages all content including original series such as Steven Universe[7] and Adventure Time [8], CN Games[9][10] and the flagship CN app.

Sorcher's career worked with several advertisement companies such as Grey Advertising, Griffin-Bacal, and Benton & Bowles.

He also worked for AMC Network as its executive vice president of programming and production.[11] He was credited with leading the network to tremendous growth, thanks to his introduction of scripted originals and Emmy-award winning series such as Mad Men[12][13][14], Breaking Bad, both named by the New York Times among the 20 best TV dramas since The Sopranos[15], and the mini-series Broken Trail[16]

Prior to AMC, Sorcher was EVP and GM of USA Network for a short time before he was replaced by the sudden appointment of Doug Herzog, who was named President of the network in 2001.[17]

Sorcher had also served as EVP of Programming/Production at Fox Family Channel,[18] and earlier in his career worked as the first General Manager of Cartoon Network with the creation of his The Cartoonstitute variety project.
