Reliance Vadodara Manufacturing Division(VMD)

Vadodara Manufacturing Division(VMD) is the manufactory of Reliance Industries Limited located at Vadodara, Gujarat, India.[1] Naphtha is the main raw material of this manufactory which is sourced from RIL’s Jamnagar refinery.[2] A Naphtha cracker facility crackes the Naphtha and feeds the downstream plants. Naptha cracking produces ethylene and propylene which are the feed-stocks for polyethylene and polypropylene plants.[3] The manufactory consists integrated utilities system which includes raw water, cooling water, demineralized water, fire water, compressed air, nitrogen, steam/condensate and a Captive Power Plant(CPP).[4]

History

The construction was started in 1970 under the ownership of IPCL, Commercial production at the complex commenced in 1973.[3] In the year 2002 RIL took over IPCL and renamed it as Vadodara Manufacturing Division (VMD).[5][6]
