Reina Sumi

Reina Sumi (鷲見 玲奈, Sumi Reina, born 12 May 1990) is an announcer for TV Tokyo. She was born from Gifu[1], Gifu Prefecture.[2]

Biography

She spent time in high school (Kita High School) in Gifu Prefecture until her graduation.

In March 2013, she graduated from the Tokyo Metropolitan University Department of Business Administration and Urban Liberal Arts Department.[3] She later joined TV Tokyo in April of the same year. She joined with Haruhi Nozawa. Immediately after joining Nogawa she was in charge of late night programme Ichiya zuke.

In July 2013, after training for three months after joining the company, she started appearances on Wednesday in charge of two programmes, News Morning Satellite and 7 St Live.[4]

From January 2015 to December 2016 she was an assistant for Winning Keiba.[5][6]

Personal life

  • Her height is 161 cm (5 ft 3 12 in).
  • Her special skill is poetry. She started when she was three years old[2] and belonged to the University of Tokyo Studies Society at university.[7]
  • She have been performing arts activities belonging to Shellys Entertainment during her college years. She appear in a television advertisement in Kadoya Sesame Mills Genuine Sesame Oil and TV Asahi's Onegai! Ranking.[8]
  • After becoming in charge of Winning Keiba in January 2015 she started to appear on the programme with glasses, according to her, she "decided to hang the glasses because I am in trouble if I mistake the odds when I went through horse race broadcasting and that the vision declined since I joined the company".[9] In addition, since she joined the company, her dark hair has become dyed brown.
  • In 2017, she was the first station analyst to appear in the cover of Shueisha's Weekly Young Jump and top gravure (2017 19th Issue).[10][11]
