Ramesh Behl

Ramesh Behl was an Indian film director and producer belonging to Behl family of Hindi films, known for Kasme Vaade (1978), Jawaani (1984), Pukar (1983) and Apne Apne (1987). He is the only filmmaker to have taken Rahul Dev Burman as the music director for all his films. He died on 5 January 1990 in India.

Personal life

His son Goldie Behl is also a well-known director and producer.[1] His daughter Srishti Behl nee Arya is a producer, media executive, co-founder of Rose Audiovisuals with her brother Goldie, one of the producer of Star Plus’s mega mythological show, former treasurer and the Vice President of the Producers Guild of India, former core member of Indian Film and TV Producers Council, and present head of Netflix India in 2020.[2] He is also father of 2 more daughters, Shraddha Behl and producton designer Tania Behl. His brother Niraj Behl is an assistant director.[3]

Ramesh Behl was a brother of director Shyam Behl, and Shayms's children actor Ravi Behl and actress Geeta Behl are his nephew and nice respectively.[4] Ramesh and Shaym's sister Shukla was married to Rajendra Kumar,[4] and Rajendra Kumar's son Kumar Gaurav is Ramesh's nephew.
